This has happened to a few store owners in the past. When they (or their customers) try to access their store, they suddenly see this error: 'This page is temporarily unavailable because a device from your location is sending a large number of requests.'
This error usually comes up when someone is sending too many requests from one device to the Shopify server.
The first thing to do is to check if this an blowout on Shopify, and Shopify is aware and fixing the issue right away. Visit Shopify Status and check if there is an outage or partial outage currently happening. If yes, I would suggest waiting for sometime and try again.
If you don't see any issues on shopify status, it means that Shopify has detected some unusual activity and has probably blocked access to the website. Here are a few more things you can do to check to fix this issue:
- Try browsing your website in incognito mode. If you are able to see your website in incognito mode, it usually means a browser extension was causing this issue.
- Do you share access to your network to more than one device? If yes, try shutting down all the devices - and powering it back on one by one. If the problem still persists, I would suggest directly contacting Shopify support as it is an issue that needs to be fixed immediately.
